Option 1: Bulk-Billed Breathing Monitor Test
This option uses a small breathing monitor that you wear overnight at home. It tracks your breathing patterns, airflow, blood oxygen levels, and heart rate while you sleep.
How it works step by step after the eligibility form is submitted:
- Pay $25(out of $50) for results discussion fee upfront to confirm your appointment
- Come into the pharmacy, get set up with the breathing monitor, and take it home
- Sleep as normal overnight wearing the monitor
- Return the device to the pharmacy the following morning
- A sleep physician reviews your results, this typically takes approximately two weeks
- Return to the pharmacy, pay the remaining $25 results discussion fee, and discuss your results and treatment options

- If Medicare approves → test is bulk-billed, total out-of-pocket cost is $50 (results discussion fee only)
- If Medicare does not approve → $360 for the test + $50 results fee = $410 total

- Download the Sleepimage app on your smartphone
- Pick up the pre-programmed ring from the pharmacy and pay the remaining $225
- Wear the ring on your thumb before sleeping, keeping your phone nearby on your nightstand
- Stop the app when you wake up in the morning
- Return the ring to the pharmacy
- The pharmacy downloads your data and sends it to a specialist for review
- Results are typically ready within 1 to 2 days
